GOP chairman: Moccia not at fault, Garfunkel not ready to be mayor
To the Editor:
Andy’s — Ready, Fire, Aim approach — misses the mark — badly.
For a mayoral candidate to try and exploit the misstatements of some, the outright lies of others and try to lay claim that Mayor Moccia had a direct hand in the events that shined a light on the abuse of a non-resident taking taxpayer services that are solely for residents, should show all of us who is unfit to hold the highest office in the city.
The “misuse” of power and office would have been if Mayor Moccia interfered with and or prevented the Norwalk Police, the Housing Authority or the Courts from doing their jobs!
Being “home-owner” less is not the same as being “homeless.”
We have had the national media spotlight shown upon Norwalk from hungry media outlets willing to avoid the work of real reporters by sensationalizing, making inaccurate and outright distortions of the facts.
This is not the mayor’s doing, and we continue to find out that mistruths were told to the press by attorneys and others vying for face and air time to promote their own agenda.
If one is expected to show voters he is ready to become the next chief elected official, Andy clearly missed the mark by making a false and misleading statement.
Being a clerk of the town obviously has not prepared him for the role as mayor. In the latest twist, where is the apology from the ones that besmirched the fine members of the Norwalk Police Department? It was revealed that no ‘strip search” happened as purported.
If an apology should be given, it needs to start there and continue with one from Andy.
