To:  Dr. Susan Marks, Superintendent of Schools, Norwalk Board of
       Education – Via e-mail

 Dear Dr. Marks:

As Chairman of the Norwalk Republican Town Committee – I have had several people contact me regarding the article in this weekend’s Norwalk Citizen News - “Roton’s Aspiring Males club…”

It appears students were brought to a party "political" rally.  While the article states “In buses paid for by Roton Middle School, the students left early Saturday morning, on Oct. 30, for Bridgeport” we both know that sometimes, what is printed by the press may not actually be the case.

I am concerned that taxpayer monies may have been used for campaign purposes.

I request your help in clarifying the following:  What was the entire cost of the trip?  Were any student fees collected?  To whom were any payments made?  When was this trip authorized and by whom?  To what extent, if any, were any public schools' monies used?

I would appreciate your prompt response so I can respond to the inquiries that I had received.

Sincerely,

Art Scialabba
