Cafero named most effective lawmaker

 

HARTFORD

House Republican Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., has been named “Most Effective Lawmaker” in a poll of fellow legislators conducted by Connecticut Magazine.

In the October issue of the magazine now on state newsstands,Cafero, of Norwalk, fared well among his colleagues who responded to the survey. The magazine,which regularly published similar polls for years, resumed the practice in 2008 after a period of hiatus. At least 40 House members or 26 percent of the Republicans and Democrats weighed in on the 10 different categories that ranged from “most effective'” to “most underrated.”

Cafero assumed leadership of the House Republican caucus following the 2006 legislative session. Previously, he was the deputy minority leader, beginning in 1994.
